Swing Set Fun
No one who is buying a swing set spends much time thinking about the mechanics of swing set hardware or the engineering behind the design of the equipment. They are more concerned with giving their kids an amazing childhood and, perhaps, spending some time reliving their own.
The appeal of swings is nearly universal. From the simplest rope swing to elaborate playground sets, children flock to swings more often than slides, teeter totters , or other equipment. This is because swinging is the closest most people ever come to the experience of flying. The thrill of the air rushing by and the height achieved as kids swing higher and higher is intoxicating and, in some ways, addictive.
Having a swing set in the backyard is good for the parents too. They are able to watch over their kids and share in their play. Parents may swing with very small children in their laps or push older children as they swing. Hearing their kids squeal with laughter and seeing the smiles and glowing faces after a session on the swing set can remind parents of the best of their own childhood and make them feel grateful that they can reproduce the experience for their kids.
