Driving Trips in Ohio

There are many great options for seeing the sights in Ohio.  One of the most popular is taking a driving tour to see the many things of interest in the state.

One of the most popular is Ohio’s famed Amish Country.  This is a quaint part of the world and a great escape from the rigors of the rat race.  The Amish Country stretches from Geauga County located in the north east of the state down to the banks of the Ohio River in the south.  This is a popular part of the world and many tourists visit each year.  Attractions of this area include shopping, sightseeing and golfing.

Another excellent escape is Dayton.  Dayton is famous for being the birthplace of manned flight dating back to the escapades of the Wright Brothers.  Dayton is rich in museums, art institutes, and theaters.  A great neighborhood to visit is the Oregon District with amazing architecture, live music, bars, restaurants and unique stores.

Cincinnati is well worth a trip.  Lots of interesting architecture, art events and outdoor activities to keep you amused.  Performance is alive at the Aronoff Center, and music concerts at the Riverbend Music Center.  The Cincinnati Ballet, Opera, and Orchestra are world famous.   At the center of the city is the Fountain Square, a place to relax and people watch.  Mt Adams offers fine views of the River Ohio, and is a bustling area full of lively shops and restaurants.

And if you fancy a getaway that is more rustic then its hard to beat a tour to the southeast of the state and a visit to Wayne National Forest with many trails and breathtaking views.  This area includes virgin forest, slow rivers, caves, natural bridges and many waterfalls.  Wildlife and wild flowers are abundant in this exciting driving getaway.
