Ideas for a Greensboro,NC vacation

Greensboro, North Carolina is a wonderful place to visit year round. It’s a great place whether you’re there for a family vacation or just to get away on your own. Tourists and visitors have a variety of things to pique their interests as they explore the region. Whether you’re looking to enjoy sights with the kids or just plan to sample the nightlife you won’t be disappointed.

If you plan to visit in August it’s highly recommend that you book a room with one of the hotels Greensboro offers in advance because many revelers will be coming out August 28th for the summer carnivale at Castle McCulloch. This is a revel on par with Mardi Gras of New Orleans with it’s bright colors and barely there, if there at all, costumes. This is a 21 and up event and perfect if you’re traveling with friends or alone and hoping to have a night of excitement. If you manage to miss this event or miss out on tickets to the Summer Carnivale you still will be able to find nice night spots year round in downtown Greensboro.

Not one to spend your nights dancing or partaking in drunken revelry? There are several local parks, museums, and when there aren’t private events scheduled the Castle McCulloch is a stunning sight with it’s medieval atmosphere complete with drawbridge and moat. If you have children with you on your visit or are just a child at heart the Greensboro Children’s Museum and in north Greensboro the Natural Science Center are sure to make for enchanting visits with interactive exhibits and a zoological park where you can observe many exotic animals from across the globe. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch the parks scattered throughout the region are lovely year round.
