Live Music Venues in San Francisco
San Francisco has always got a good scene of creative people in every area of entertainment. It has some of the best live venues in the country to sip on a cocktail and be entertained. Some of these clubs were opened by famous artist and musicians. Boz Scaggs opened, Slim’s , in 1988 to feature some great American roots music like Blues, R&B, Jazz, Cajun, Zydecco, Alternative rock and more. It has won awards in the night club industry for being one of the best clubs to see live music in the country. The food and service are also note worthy and the atmosphere is like stepping into a New Orleans building.
To get a taste of the bay area rising stars, check out the Rockit Room . They have many great local acts on their stage every night. During the week they have acoustic nights, comedy nights and open mic nights. On the week end, they feature some of the local and national musical acts ranging from reggae to heavy rock. This music space has hosted many famous acts since 1973. Audiences have flocked into the club for the likes of Etta James, Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker to Third Eye Blind, Train, The Mother Hips and many many more.
The Elbo Room is another club that has been a music hub for San Francisco for many decades. The original bar opened in 1935 and has seen many different businesses come through its wall every since. In 1991, the now established, Elbo Room, has been in operation as a bar and entertainment venue. This club has two levels and has all styles of music playing. This can be a great place to hit the dance floor or catch a more intimate live show of your favorite artist or band. All one needs now is a cab from their San Francisco hotel to a hot music club and they’re set.
